ABC's and 123's

School is back in session. You know what that means early mornings, earlier bedtime we hope, and a nice big break in the day for mom.

Karson is now in second grade and loving it!! He has the same teacher that I had in second grade.
Kambree is now in Kindergarten, and funny story I had no Idea that Monday was her first day of school and took her to her "open house" only to find out she was an hour late for her first day. I know I get the mother of the year award on the first day of school, it's going to be a long year.
( this picture was our fake first day of school, really the second)

She was good sport about it and the first thing she said was " I didn't get to wear my new clothes", but other than that she was all smiles.

(here we have the real first day of school after she got off the bus.)

And our little Bailey is now in Preschool.
This is something she has talked about all summer long.

In bailey's words " I three (pause) I go to preschool."

Demry Kathleen Barber

We finally have our baby it has been a long awaited event by everyone in the family.
Demry Kathleen Barber was born Monday at 5:17pm she weighed 8 lbs 13 oz and was 21 inches long.

This is the proud Dad! Isn't he cute!!

First Family Picture with our new addition, I can not believe we are now a family of six!

Some Pictures from the hospital

Coming Home!

The morning after we brought her home the kids could not get enough of her I couldn't get them to get ready to go to grandma's. So I started bribing them with things like "if you get dressed you can hold her" and if you eat breakfast you can give her a kiss. It worked wonders.

She has already had her first photo shoot. At three day's old
I thought while it was just her and me for the day I wanted to have a little fun!

THE STORY: So it was Monday morning and Todd went off to work, and  I quickly got all the kids ready to go to my last doctors appointment. As I was leaving I had the thought to grab my bags and the car seat just in case. But brushed it off because of my deep state of depression. You see this was the longest I had ever been pregnant with only four days until my due date, and doing everything possible one can think of to go into labor. I mean I tried everything from eating a lot of chocolate, mowing the lawn, weeding the garden, picking raspberries, sweeping out the garage, and cleaning the entire house. Dont' let me forget the two mile walks. Nothing I felt nothing. I was sure I had not dilated from my last appointment when I was a depressing one cm. We made the drive to rexburg where I dropped the kids off at aunt Jessicas and headed to my appointment with the plan of going shopping with jessica and taking the kids swimming later that day. however, plans change when the doctor checked me told me I was at a 4, and 75% ephased. He changed my induction day from friday to the next morning. However, I paniked you see with my first baby I as at a four with High blood pressure and they sent me straight to the hospital. It was there that I went from a four to a seven without feeling any of my contraction. So I voiced my concerns to the doctor that I would make the forty minute drive home be in labor and not know it, and not make it back in time to the hospital. So, for my own piece of mind the doctor hooked me to a monitor and sure enough I was in labor and didn't know it. how does one not know they are in labor you ask. Well and i can't ansewer that because I just don't know. I was having contractions every minute and a half and I dialated from a 4 to a 5 in a very short half hour. The doctor told me to go straight to the hospital. Jessica went with me at first stayed with me until Todd could get things settled at work and grab my bags. I'm just glad he made it, Thank goodness for epidurals slowing down the labor process. Anyway, other than not being prepared to have a baby that day with no bags and yes, I had not shaved my legs yet, the delivery went well and we now have this beautiful little baby in our home.

Baileys Wings

So we had this amazing tea party with friends this week, and yes Karson and Aiden did join the fun. Where would princesses be without the sheriffs? We decorated planned yummy food and had a blast!

While getting ready for the tea party little miss Bailey found the fairy wings, and loved them!! She has loved them everyday since.

She has loved them while playing with play dough...

 playing in her swimsuit....

 playing outside with the neighbors...

and while cleaning the basement...
(please note we have added the hat and sunglasses)

How boring life would be without our Bailey!!

Karson's Baseball Pictures

We are always involved in one sport or another in this house, and for the summer it's baseball Karson loves baseball!! The two things Karson says most in a day are "I'm hungry" and "I want to play baseball"  So I wanted to post some pictures, I thought I had more but it turns out they are all videos and only two pictures. He had a fun season and it ended with them being undeafeated which was great for all the boys and the one girl on the team. So now we have a month break and it's on to football.

A Boy's Best Friend

Meet the newest member of our family, Duke.

(In Karsons words)
I got my dog!! I have wanted him for like three years. He is the best dog I ever knew. I like to play fetch with him. He eats bugs and all my toys. He likes to run with me. He likes to chase the horses. The girls are afraid of him. He likes to take shoes. I love my dog!!

So Karson wasn't kidding the first time he was brave enough to sit on Santa's lap he asked for a dog. Santa looked at me, I shook my head no and then Santa said "well I can't always bring what you want" Karson's face fell, and I felt like the Mother of the year. I have tried to hold him off. I gave him a stuffed dog, then last year I gave him a webkin dog hoping a virtual dog would do, but no, one night while reading him a story about a boy and his dog he turned to me and said "next year I'm going to ask Santa for a real dog so I don't get any more stuffed dogs."
Well Santa came in July this year, when my dad called, let me add seconds after Karson got done telling me once again how much he wanted a dog, and said a man at work had some German short haired puppy's he was giving away and was wondering if we wanted one. I said no, Todd said yes, we now have a dog!

4th of July 2011

This is a long over due post, but this was how the Barber Family spent the 2011 Fourth of July weekend.

It all started Friday night with the camp out, and since I am at the end of this pregnancy, and not a big fan of camping,

I volunteered Todd to set the tent up and sleep in the backyard with the kids.

Saturday we took the family to Crest Creek where we enjoyed a nice little nature hike.

On Monday we spent the day in Menan watching Todd play in a softball tournament, watching the parade and playing some of the games they had  in the park.

In between games Bailey liked giving Todd makeovers.

Of course the Fourth of July would not be same if we didn't get the horse out to ride.

After a long fun day of family and friends, we all went down to the river to enjoy the fireworks. Karson, Kambree. and Bailey wanted to watch the fireworks from on top of the car. They were loving life up there until the actual show started and then....
Karson ended up in a chair next me.

(I do have to point out that he did watch the fireworks this year.) This was him last year if you look closely he is inside the truck. I love this kid he is always so tough but when it comes to fireworks he is like a scared little puppy who still needs his mom.

and the girls ended up in Todds lap.

Thanks to Jessica and Branden we ended the day with sparklerers.

I'm glad that we have this holiday to get together with family and friends to celebrate the blessing we have of living in this free country.
