Fall 2012

I feel like since school started we have been going, going, and going. If I have time where nothing is going on I usually take a much needed nap. Thus all our Fall activities have gone without being posted, and well lets face it fall is my most favorite season for food and my second favorite for weather. That makes this post one that can not be forgotten.

First off Karson had a great last year of Flag Football . He was coached by his Dad, and played with all his friends. Next year (pause) Grid Kid. I don't think I'm ready to see my son get tackled to the ground so Maybe I can talk him into one more year of flag football.

I had to put this picture in because Karson had so much fun playing football, he now has permanently grassed stained knees.
No matter how hard we scrub they won't go away!

Second we had a great garden this year. Except for our corn I don't know what happened. Believe it or not it even had ears that were no bigger than my hand.

I spent a lot of time canning Peaches, Pears, Tomato Sauce, Apple Sauce, and for the first time I tried Relish, Pickles, and Salsa. (Note to anyone who has never dealt with jalapenos. Don't touch the seeds and then your face. Your face will feel like it is on fire and the skin is melting right off, and just when you think it is done burning, DON'T go and work out. Once the sweat starts coming all the fiery pain comes right back.)

Once all the canning was out of the way I could pay attention to my kids again. So, we all went to Freeman park and played in the leaves.  We had a blast and I love the picture of Kambree's feet. She dove into the pile and that was all we could see of her. (It was a really big pile!!)

Next Halloween!!!

We had fun carving pumpkins.

Yes, we did dinner in a pumpkin, and jello worms again. (so fun)

However, when it came to the costumes I had a hard time coming up with a theme everyone was happy with, seeing how, the kids are getting older, and our family is bigger. But I did manage to pull it off one more year with some very heavy persuasion.
(It might just be the last.)

This years theme.... Storybook characters. We have Prince Charming, Pocahontas,

A fairy.

and my favorite of the year Red Riding hood and the Wolf.

We have had a very full and fun fall, and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings.

Happy Birthday Kambree!

Happy Birthday Kambree!!
She is 7!!

For her seventh Birthday Kambree once again wanted a Barbie cake. (this makes #3, and might I add this is definitely the best one so far.) I think she has figured out that if she asks for a barbie cake then she gets a new barbie every year for her birthday, and it doesn't count as one of her presents. (smart girl)

For her Birthday this year we decided to let her get her ears pierced. This however came with a LOT of drama!!

Note to anyone who gets their daughters ears pierced, Do exactly what they instruct you to do, and DON'T take the earrings out to clean them only three days later. It might lead to having to get the ears repierced, only to find out it was the wrong earring in the gun and having to repierce the other ear to match. While listening to your daughter cry "it hurts mommy it hurts. Only to have the earring fall out as soon as you get home. Resulting in a mad husband, a traumatized daughter, a mother who gives up,  and your four year old saying "I will never ever get my ears pierced ever!" I'm just saying....
(we did get the earring back in. So we didn't have to get the ears pierced a third time.)

I love this girl!!

She's ONE!!

I can't believe my baby has gone from this...

To this, in a year.

She has been my stinkiest, hardest, and loudest baby so far but she has also been SO much fun. We all love her, and can't get enough. We all cry when she cries, laugh when she laughs, and  CHEER whenever she does anything new.(She's not spoiled or anything) Happy Birthday Demry!!

Just some pictures from the party...

9 years

It's been 9 years since I married my missionary and time has gone by so fast!! We have had 4 children,(crazy!!) graduated from college, worked for two different companies, have been laid off twice and are now going back to school to change careers. That saying "You never know what life will bring" is so true!!! I am excited, and a little scared at what the next nine years will bring. (hopefully not 4 more children. hahahha)

To celebrate our 9th  anniversary. We went with some friends up to Seattle. FYI Todd and I lived there for about 5 months while he did an internship for school and I HATED it. My feelings have now changed and I think it is one of the most beautiful places, and I have enjoyed going back to visit.

Now about our weekend..... The first night we were in Olympia. I finally got to see the the Cabelas my husband helped manage the building of. When we lived there I was very sick and pregnant and left before it was finished so I never got to see it done.

I remember Tood telling me about all the African animals he helped bring into the store one day. So it was fun to see them. (I loved the elephant.)

That night we went down to the capital building and ate at Anthony's  and for me I tried a lot of new seafood (yummy) We were all so full and all agreed that the berry lemonade was the best lemonade we have ever had, seriously the best.

The next morning we went to Gig Harbor and explored the beach while the tide was out. This was the HIGHLIGHT of my weekend. I saw a starfish, but now just one

Tons they were everywhere!! I have wanted to see a starfish for years, living in Washington I never saw one. I went back to visit still didn't see one. Vacationed in Hawaii for a week NO starfish, when I went to Florida I was sure I would see a starfish, but.... no. It has been a long time and a lot of beaches And I finally saw one it was the best day!! Next time I am hoping for a whale.

Later that day we went to a Seattle Mariners game they were playing the Kansas City.... somethings the team that is connected to the Idaho Falls Chuckers.

I'm not really a baseball fan, and after such an "exciting" game.... still... not a fan. But they had these garlic fries, oh yeah,  they were good. And I swear Todd and I are still sweating garlic a month later. We also got to see a girl get proposed to right in front of us. That was fun. The best part of that was afterward when she walked up the stairs in a VERY short skirt my friend Jeanne and I wanted to tell her she forgot to put on her panties.

After the game we toured downtown Seattle. This was something Todd never got to do because when we lived there he worked 7 days a week 10 hour days. So I did a lot of the sight seeing without him.

At Pikes market we once again found and tried more yummy seafood and cheesecake. Oh and I almost forgot Sushi I tried sushi for the first time. (not bad)  We had SUCH a good time with each other and with our friends. I love Washington.

Will I ever live there again hopefully not, would I like to go back regularly for vacation? YES. Don't ask why.

A Good Example

My Grandma passed away this summer on July 26, it was a sad yet peaceful time. Sad because we knew we would miss her but peaceful because she was not suffering anymore, and she was able to be reunited with two of her sons and her sweet heart my Grandpa. Not to mention all the other family and friends that had passed on before her.

My Grandma lived to be 101, in her life time she went from horse and buggy to cars and planes.  My Grandma was a good example of dedication and hard work. Her testimony and her family were very important to her.

On of my favorite memories of my Grandma is when she had a stroke she came and lived with my parents for awhile. I got the privilege of coming down from Rexburg everyday and taking care of here while everyone else was in school or working. She loved Karson! He would try and comb her hair even though she didn't have much. (the medicine she was on made it fall out) I would make sandwiches for lunch, and she would say I made the best sandwiches.  Then we would end the day by me putting my kids down for a nap, and Grandma and I would watch an old classical movie. Grandma loved the old movies.

(girls playing ring around the rosie's)

(No, we did plan all of the kids to match but it sure looked cute.)

Grandma's surving sons.

I'm grateful for the knowledge that I have of Eternal families. How lucky we are.

When I am Baptized

"I like to look for rainbows, when ever there is rain.

And ponder on the beauty
of an earth made clean again.

I want my life to be as
clean as earth right after rain.

I want to be the best I
can, and live with God again.

I know when I am baptized my
wrongs are washed away.

and I can be forgiven and improve myself each day.

I want my life to be as clean as earth
 right after rain.
I want to be the best I can, and live with God again!"
